Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the GoEun Museum of Photography founded by the GoEun Foundation, this new museum represents a pivotal step, becoming the first in the world dedicated to the master photographer, Ralph Gibson.
The Gibson Ι Goeun Museum of Photography is curating over 1,000 photographs by Ralph Gibson from his 65-year career. The museum also showcases a range of Gibson's personal items, such as cameras, musical instruments, videos, letters, and publications. Renowned for his expertise in photography, culture, music, and literature, Gibson generously donates many artworks to the museum. This not only illuminates his multifaceted career but also supports the museum's grand opening. Aiming to be the foremost global museum dedicated to Gibson, it collaborates with the GoEun Museum of Photography to offer young Korean photographers a chance to learn from and engage with this iconic figure.

The bond between the GoEun Foundation and Ralph Gibson deepened through mutual recognition in France. Both Ralph Gibson and Foundation Chairman HyungSoo KIM have been awarded the French Legion of Honor in 2018 and 2004/2014, respectively. Their shared love and understanding of French culture have fostered enduring exchanges and deepened their friendship, eventually leading to the establishment of this new museum.
